Marshmallows

All of the kids LOVE marshmallows but Gavin was thoroughly enjoying his (while sitting on top of the table, of course).

All dressed up!

Caught a quick picture of the girls all dressed up before church. Not a care in the world!

PB & J

I love those sweet moments when the kids love and adore eachother. My favorite times are watching them laugh and play together!

School has started!

Eris with her new 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Durbin:

Shayla with her new preschool teacher Ms. Kim:

Lovin the Heat!

So it is the 29th of September and still in the 100s which is a nice change from the 120s it was a month ago. We love being outside, whether its playing in the backyard, at the park or in the pool. We did have a huge downpour of rain during the summer but one thing I love about when it rains in Mesquite is that the water is warm! The kids put on their ponchos and rain boots and with fishing pole in hand headed out the door to catch some fish.

September 2010 in a nutshell

Eris turned 7 years old and started 2nd grade. Shayla started preschool. Both girls are involved in their extra-curricular activities again and loving them all. Gavin is full of energy and personality. It has been fun to see him run and play right along with his big sisters.

Spencer turned the big 30. He completed a sprint triathlon (1 mile swim, 11 mile bike, 5k run) at Sand Hollow and finished 11th out of 32 in his class. He completed it in 1 hr 28 mins. We are all so proud of him. He has another one scheduled Oct 23rd in Vegas but he's going for the 1/2 ironman this time. Good luck honey! We were able to go to Vegas for an awards ceremony for his shift's great work at multiple medical calls for accidents that happened simultaneously. He also received the "You've Been Caught" award for saving another dog. This time it wasn't from a burning building but he did jump into the pond and bring him out. He has been keeping busy with Mesquite Fire, Gold Cross Ambulance and UVU school again. He's taking online courses for his bachelors in Emergency Management. We are lucky when he is home and try to make as much out of the time he spends here.

I'm back in the role of soccer mom. I spend a lot of time taking the kids to school and other activities. It has been so nice to stay home full time this school year. I look forward to joining the PTO, volunteering in the girls' classes and spending lots of quality time with my family.

We are nearing the end of receiving our kinship fostercare license and are looking forward to finding out if there will be a new addition to our family. The next court date is Oct 22nd and we are hoping that we will know which way this is going at that time. Gabriel is such a smart, sweet, cute little guy and we would love to have him in our family if that's how it works out.
