Happy Halloween 2011
The only picture I was able to get with Gavin in a full costume...
A few seconds later...
And a few seconds after that he makes his run for it!
Eris tried to change his mind by getting in his Buzz Lightyear costume.
So did Shayla. But to no avail!
Shayla changed her mind about her costume too. She didn't want to be Belle anymore, but she was sure a cute little clown. Remind me why I spent money on costumes this year?
Eris sure did turn some heads as the original "Headless Wonder".
Shayla showing off her stuff. She even made it to the top, clown hat and all.
Eris made it to the top too, size 34 pants and all!
Gavin refused to wear a costume to the party but had fun stuffing himself with cotton candy.
My cute little kiddos!
Halloween at the mall
The final product! Gavin finally agreed to wear a Home Depot apron trick or treating and he loved every minute. When we went around the neighborhood, he rode his little blue bike around but when people asked what he was, he'd just say "I'm Gavin." He's the only 2-year-old I know that didn't want to dress up for Halloween but he had fun anyway! :)

Weekend Fun!
I have been trying harder to get out and do fun activities with the kids during the weekends. It seems like a lot of times I focus my attention on trying to clean up after a crazy week or spend time trying to catch up on work so I have a new goal to spend more fun family time with the kids even if daddy is at work. So a few weekends ago it was the dinosaur museum which the kids loved. Gavin liked to run around and roar like a dinosaur, Eris loved to make origami paper cranes while Shayla loved to color. They all enjoyed looking at the dinosaur bones and footprint fossils but the most fun was digging in the sandbox outside (the only part that was free!)
Another weekend we went to the Home Depot activity where the kids got free face painting, cotton candy and snowcones. They also received their very own Home Depot aprons and were able to build little wooden helicopters. Dad was even able to come help for a few minutes.
The next day we went to the Heritage Days Parade and to the park afterward to see old pioneer wagons, hear stories, listen to music... The kids helped make a dish towel with a loom and spun wool on a spinning wheel.

Last weekend we went to Mesquite for the Party 4 Life fun where the kids saw monkeys, camels, zebras..., a bounce house, live music and entertainment and free BBQ given by the Mesquite Fire Dpt. After that we were able to go to Vegas to support a cousin getting baptized and had fun with several aunts, uncles, cousins and great-grandma and grandpa. Unfortunately we forgot the camera for those memories but we all had a great time!

So I have been completely HORRIBLE with this blog for the past while and A LOT has been going on in the lives of our little Lewis clan. Some of the highlights have been; trip to Idaho with friends and fam, I went out of town for 2 wks (12 days longer than I have ever left my kids mind you) for a training in New York, Eris started 3rd grade and Shayla started her new preschool with some of her fav cousins Kamryn and Cambrie, the kids spent some time visiting extended fam, the joys of Halloween, Eris made swim team, and setting up for Christmas 2011! The kids are growing up so fast and are involved in so many wonderful activities. We love spending time together and even though life will get a little mixed up with mommy going back to work for awhile, we will pull through and make sure to enjoy all of the mini miracles happening in the meantime. :)
Gavin's new outfit of choice includes wearing his diaper only. So where do you put your phone if you have no pockets? Just stuff it in your diaper, I guess. The girls planted the seeds Sarah sent them and they actually grew!
Daddy took a pretty shot of the girls in front of the tabernacle. They had daddy time for a whole week straight while mom was out of town and this was one of the many fun activities they did.

The boys were worn out after a long day! Gavin actually sleeps in his bed at night again though, even if it takes 1/2 hour + laying next to him til he falls asleep.
FHE at the Temple Visitors Center
Our neighbors gave us a bag of base that you add ingredients to make dough. It's called "Friendship Bread" and we all had a fun time watching and waiting for it to become ready to bake for a tasty treat!
Gavin has put his own meaning to the song, "Up on the housetop". He enjoys standing on the tippy top of the roof and jumping down to his bed beneath. Good thing he has fantastic balance!
Eris' first day of 3rd grade.
Shayla's first day of preschool with cousin, Cambrie.
